I'm Donya and it's nice to meet you!
I am a lifelong intuitive  and veteran public school educator focused on making connections and building bridges both in schools and in the spirit world.  In either setting, I disrupt systems of oppression and limited beliefs for the liberation of us all.

I am from Markham, IL, right outside of Chicago, but for the last 20+ years I have been an Atlanta educator and consultant to schools and districts across the nation. I honestly don't ever remember NOT being intuitive and connected to the spirit world in a way that allowed me to instantly "know" things, whether that be information about people, upcoming events, or how to solve complex problems.  As a young child, my father, a Pentecostal pastor, recognized these gifts and encouraged me to see them as a gift from God that should be used in service of love.  As I grew older, I saw these gifts unfold in my career as an educator, but also in my relationships.  Yet, I had no idea that they could be developed, practiced, and used intentionally to help others.

I spent 20 years completely devoted to disrupting the highly effective systems of oppression that plague public schools and perpetuate inequities.  In this time, I was less focused on connections to the spirit world and more focused on making connections to people in global majority communities that are continuously and purposely underserved and systematically afflicted.  Until my own world was disrupted. Like many of you, my world was turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic.  In addition to the losses across my family at all ages, I lost the human experience of my mother to complications that arose from a massive stroke.  A few months later I lost my father.  And then a brother.  The wave of loss started in 2020 and continued until the very last weeks of 2023.  At that time, I also made the conscious decision to refuse to participate in organized racism and oppression in my place of employment and left the public school system.  While I grieved the loss of my best friend, aka Mom, and all of the other relationships and connections I thought were just gone, my intuition and psychic abilities began to grow swiftly and exponentially.

The messages I used to get (that I always just called "the ancestors") became more of a conversation that went back and forth.  The connections grew more tangible and impossible to ignore.  At the same time, the separation from my mother was unbearable.  I watched "Surviving Death" on Netflix where I was reminded of mediumship, but didn't know where to find a credible medium.  So, I began to research the Forever Family Foundation, highlighted in the series, and discovered a list of certified and tested mediums.  It was there that I found a medium and booked an appointment.  In that mediumship reading, not only did I experience the powerful healing and love that can come from connecting with a loved one you've lost, but before the reading even began the medium told me that I should be doing this...and I already knew it.

Yes, I confirmed, I did. From that day, I leaned back into the intuition, psychic, mediumship, and spiritual healing abilities I have always been accompanied by.  After the miraculous experience I had, I knew that my lifetime of service to the community would continue, but would shift in a different direction.  I still fight oppression.  I still serve students by helping schools and districts become more equitable, and thereby more effective.  I will ALWAYS fight patriarchy, misogyny, white supremacy systems, and culture, oppression against the LGBTQIA+ community, and literally ANY other force or energy that comes to separate, rather than connect us all.  I just do it in collaboration with the spirt world now ;-)

WHAT I BELIEVE?

  • All people are people.

  • Every person matters because they exist.

  • We are all spirit beings having a human experience that we learn lessons from.  This human experience is only a miniscule part of our eternal existence.

  • We are all connected to each other, whether we like it or not, both in this life and the spirit world.   To deny the belonging of others is to also deny a part of your own belonging.

  • Chicago pizza is better than everyone else's. Not just the deep dish, but also the thin crust.  Fight me.

  • Every part of our identity matters, so love yourself and love others as they are.

  • We manifest our realities and outcomes with our thoughts and where we invest our energy.

  • Animals are better than humans.

  • Trans people are my heroes.

  • Not many parts of this human experience are better than freshly popped Garrett's Popcorn.
